VNA Features

Hi,

I wonder if a VNA is able to be implemented using the Spectran V6 and if that is possible using existing blocks.
We've got 1 Tx and 2 Rx's and theoretically could bridge Tx/Rx2 for reflection measurement and use Rx1 for through measurement.
So hardware-wise I expect everything to work. Or am I getting things wrong?

Software-wise I expect some of the features could be done as we can script and compare spectra.
But I could not find out how to e.g. show measurements as smith chart, or how I could properly implement SOLT calibration as it would probably be a bit too much for the JS engine (?).

Alternatively, I thought about connecting NanoVNA MIT licensed sources to HTTP block (or the lib?) and abstract the internals regarding signal generation and measurement.
This would give us a standalone app, might be even more fitting as opposed to a eierlegendewollmilchsau RTSA-block called "VNA".

What are your thoughts?

Yes this is quite simple.

The following post shows how to use the SPECTRAN V6 as a simple VNA e.g. for cable or filter tests:

Thanks!

that allows the spectrum analysis and is quite good already.

But regarding the Vector aspect, am I missing something? 🙂
Especially to match an antenna or a filter the hardware is amazing.

Indeed "Vector" is not included but the future will tell 🙂
