How is the Triggering IN/OUT work for SG and SA?
Quote from Ron95 on 30/11/2023, 02:44Hi,
I went through the Spectran V6's SFP and sample code. I couldn't find anything about the Triggering feature.
Can I know how the triggering feature works?
Example:
- When Signal Generator source IQs, how set the trigger out signal when start playback the IQ?
- How to set the trigger IN signal to Signal Analyzer (SA), to tell SA to start capturing/measurement?
Thanks in advance!
Best regards,
Ron95

Triggering is considered to be happening in software.
Maybe you want to explain your measurement setup If that does not answer your question.

Maybe I share how my measurement setup:
Hardware Setup:
Signal Generator (OUT) ----> connect to Signal Analyzer (IN)
Signal Generator (Trigger OUT) ----> connect to Signal Analyzer (Trigger IN)
Software Setup:
Step 1: When I playback the 802.11ax IQs waveform for example, at the same time, the Signal Generator (Trigger OUT) will send out the trigger signal.
Step 2: In Signal Analyzer, will arm the (Trigger IN).
Step 3: Once Trigger IN signal is receive, the Signal Analyzer only will start the measurement.
Hope above clear.

And please use the forum SEARCH feature first. There are lots of threads about the usage: https://v6-forum.aaronia.de/forum/search/?keywords=trigger

Quote from Ron95 on 04/12/2023, 08:17Thanks for the information. Image below is V6 block that capture from forum. The module has only one Bi-directional Trigger port.
Is there any way to connect/route the Trigger-Out to Trigger-In as highlighted below?
And how to configure the external trigger OUT?
Thanks,
