LTE EVM Measurement

PreviousPage 2 of 2

Step by step. We will see what we can add within the next days but for sure will implement LTE soon.

Recognizes Slots & Sync symbols.
Can display secondary synchronization symbol within constellation chart etc.
Now adding all functions to a new standalone block. More soon!
LT Decoder

Any updates in regards to the release date of this block ?

All needed decoding's and calculations should be in place now.

Working on the final layout:

LTE Decoder

That's really good news. Please keep this thread up to date. I would like to test it as soon as it's available.

This might be the final feature and look incl. symbol and error table:

EVM Measurement

The block is included in the RTSA-Suite PRO, feel free to test it. It needs an IQ Oscilloscope block as input.

Could you give a sample mission about LTE EVM Measurement block with IQ Oscilloscope block?

?

Could you give a sample mission about this EVM Measurement block?

Because the system block showed it didn't measure the current EVM but the average EVM, the result would always be 0.0%.

I hoped to check I connect the block  in a right way.

Attached is an example mission for measuring LTE EVM on the downlink. Please see the notes below the images!

PBCH measurement channel:

PDSCH measurement channel:

Mission:

  • You will need RTSA >= 3.0.1.15688
  • Measurement is available with the LTE Decoder block (not yet in oscilloscope): connect the IQCons output to the EVM Measurement block as shown in the block graph
  • You don't necessarily need the scanner, you can also directly connect the LTE Decoder to the V6 if you know your cell parameters
  • Make sure to select a "Measurement Channel" in LTE Decoder block config (default is none)
  • "EVM Averaging" in EVM Measurement block config should be '1' (default is 8)
  • EVM results may differ from other measurement devices, as synchronization and channel equalization is very likely not done in the same way - let us know your special needs for solving your use case
  • "EVM vs Time" and the constellation graph show the EVM and IQ samples belonging to the chosen measurement channel for the current LTE frame (i.e. duration of 10ms)
  • (example gifs are made from a public base station, recorded indoors)
  • Attached is another mission for testing the EVM block using a signal generator
