eco 100 pre-order estimated ship date?
Quote from RFwatcher on 29/03/2024, 20:16hi, I have kept an eye on aaronia's Twitter/X as well as these forms,
so i'm aware the eco-150 pre-orders have already started to ship out. Last i saw was the Eco-100s were a few weeks away from shipping out (this was about 4-5 weeks ago)- so can you all please provide an updated / estimated ship out time or (date) for eco-100 preorders from last year? (ie I'm not referring to a brand new preorder placed today - rather older pre-orders currently in queue)
thanks!
(looking forward to my eco-100 !)

Quote from AdminTC on 30/03/2024, 09:02Yes we just started to ship the 150s and the 100s will follow 3-4 weeks later so we should have all preorders shipped within the next 2 months.

Dear XXX,
Unfortunately, there is currently no information on when we will be able to deliver the device.
The devices do not currently meet our quality standards, so we have to revise some production steps in the development process.
If this takes too long, we can also cancel the order. This is not a problem.Kind regards

Following the unreliable information on delivery times and the state of the situation, I consider the Spectran V6 ECO to be “vaporware” or a product that does not exist.
Aaronia seemed like a serious and cutting-edge company, having seen some of the products at their stand in Friedrichshafen.
I placed an order on January 3, 2024 with an announced deadline of 6 weeks. I contacted Aaronia several times to obtain a realistic delivery time but the answer is never clear. At the end of March we were announced the start of deliveries ( 3-4 weeks) but when I contact customer service the answer is completely different than what is answered on this forum with the following answer:
"Unfortunately, there is currently no information on when we will be able to deliver the device.
The devices do not currently meet our quality standards, so we have to revise some production steps in the development process."
When a colleague also wants to order, on April 7, 2024 here is what the ordering site indicates:In stock - Estimated delivery time 6 weeks
I have always been patient with my orders and I can understand certain delivery delays but each time responding to customers that deliveries are starting and learning that the entire industrial process needs to be reviewed, I feel like I have to do with a Chinese box-movers company. I will therefore request a refund and quickly forget this company which does not keep its promises and has never taken the trouble to give factual explanations.

I have a pre-order from June 2023, and was also promised it earlier. But I get a different picture from my sales contact, and have also touched and seen an early version of Eco last year.
Just wait a bit more, weeks or months. It will be worth it, in the meantime time get some good 50ohm dummy loads and SMA Limiters.
"Last week I have had your ECO in my hands, and we prepared the shipment.
But the final quality check identified a software problem, wherefore we decided not to ship it.
We want to solve this issue before sending this analyzer to you, because we want you to be happy with it."

Aaronia was very detailed (and transparent) on the build/prototype process for the ecos (look at their twitter posts from ~ dec 2023). They have also been very forthright with info on development and timelines. (much more so than other companies).
We also know they are not a "vaporware" type company (ie They have many products that are much more advanced and expensive than the ECOs, and have been around for a while - heck you can even see videos of beta ECOs aaronia has posted to twitter and demoed at various RF trade shows).
If these ECOs were aaronia's first product to market or if ECOs were their *only* product line, I think you would be more justified in your fear - but that is not the case here.
IMO- the only mistake on aaronia's part thus far, is keeping that estimate of ~6 weeks on their buy page. (However I do feel that they really expected it to be around 6 weeks, even back in December 2023, but un-expected issues came up). Keep in mind there are no other products at this price point offering this depth of features in a SA - so there will be challenges in first runs of production, at this level of cutting edge.
That said you are well within your rights to request a refund on your pre-order, although I encourage you to hold on.

Quote from rmajer on 07/05/2024, 01:29I'm also wondering about the status of my pre-ordered (and already fully paid) 150XA-6, also ordered at the HamRadio expo in 2023. Unfortunately, emails remain unanswered and the last phone call only earned me a rather rude response (loosely translated "it won't go any faster if people keep emailing or calling us"). I must admit that I'm rather disappointed at this point in time. In my opinion, the whole situation with development / production delays was handled in an extremely unprofessional manner, especially when it comes to informing your customers (and no, twitter posts are not professional communication).
