Calibration

PreviousPage 2 of 2

The nosie (NF) is no issue since it will not influence the signal (power level) accuracy if will only influence the DANL.

Thank you, how do I implement correction for the DANL in SpectranV6?   We use terminated 50 ohm load as the input of  external LNA connected to SpectranV6.

You can not "correct" the DANL, that would make no sense.

In other words is calibration the same for two different LNAs with identical gain but different NFs?

Yes.

Hello (first post by the way),

I Got a RSA 500X, a BicoLog 20100E, a HyperLog6080, a Omni Log-pro 1030, a 1m SMA-SMA cable, a 5m SMA-SMA cable and a XXL"Shielding Tent"(not assembled yet). I'm starting to use this equipment for pre-compiance EMC (Radiated Emmissions) [3075MHz-1GHz][1-6GHz] and while configuring the Calibration block the list of available cables seem incomplete in relation to the ones available on your website.
PrintScreen calibration Block cable options
I got the SMA 1m(501/006) but there's another SMA 1m option expensive one(501/050):

  • To which 1m SMA cable corresponds the (only) 1m option on the drop down menu in the image?
  • It seems to be the "cheaper one" that i got (due to the 1GHz Damping value) but i'm not sure due to incomplete specs shown on the site.
  • The calibration, on the cable selection part, essentially compensates/rectifies for the "attenuation" along the frequency....and so what could i expect to gain if i get the more expensive option?

I also got the SMA 5 meter one ( 501/008) which also has a better version for the same length (this one):

  • which one is mine?
  • the specs on the site of my 5m cable doesn't (seem to) corresponds to the either  5 meter options of the drop down menu (using the 1 Ghz point for instance)
  • the units on the specs also seems inconsistent

Other doubt i have relates to the "Power Offset" (last field of that subsection):

  • what is the reason for this field? if the antenna and cable (and other options) creates a calibration that compensates for each part what would this value correct correct for?
  • is it related to the distance from the radiation source aka DUT/EUT (in the EMC radiated emission case)?

I'm sorry for the long post and for eventually posting in the wrong topic.

Thank you
